How it worked:
A 4 digit SMS Shortcode was set up on a premium rate (AED 5).
digitALL then created an online platform that allowed the messages to be sent to via API access. The interaction was incentivized and a winner would be picked before the end of the concert.
As SMS messages were sent in they would go through an automated filter to eliminate obscene or offensive messages and then be fed live onto the giant screens.
An automated SMS message was then sent back from AEG Live which was an area that offered sponsors of the event a prime 100% deliverable way to reach the audience.
All data was captured and allowed AEG Live to know who their fans were.
AEG Live were also monetize this activity via the premium rate SMS messages.
