Hertz Rental Car

Increase sales at Dubai and Abu Dhabi Airport by Bluetooth Messaging

How it worked:
A promotional message was uploaded to a Bluetooth Messaging device and the device was installed in Dubai and Abu Dhabi arrival terminals. The Bluetooth device would then be able to send out the content that had been uploaded to people within a vacinity of up to 100 meters.

This message was sent out via Bluetooth to passengers that came through the arrival terminals at both Dubai and Abu Dhabi Airport. Passengers who had their Bluetooth on, on their mobile phones would then receive notification that Hertz would like to send them a message via Bluetooth.

The recipient would then be able to either accept or reject the message, if they choose to accept then via Bluetooth the promotion text message would then be delivered to their mobile phone. If the person chose not to receive the message them the Bluetooth device would remember the customers phone and not send them the message again.

Customers who accepted the message was then prompted to show the message at the Hertz counter located in the terminal to redeem the offer of 20% on all rentals.

In 1 month alone over 40,000 messages were pushed out using Bluetooth
